How to generate an Urgency
to Mitigate Index (UTM)
In the system settings, you can generate definitions for both Likelihood and Business Impact. The use
of simple English against the numbers ensures that different people who are scoring risks have the
standards by which to assess. A Business Impact score of 9.5 could mean that this is almost terminal
for the business whilst a likelihood of 5 could mean that it’s a fifty-fifty chance of it happening. Whilst
likelihood is a probability, business impact is more complex.
